Etna volcano (southern slope)

Etna is the highest active volcano of Europe(3,350 metres), UNESCO natural heritage site


Tour days: Monday, Saturday

Duration of the excursion: 8 hours


This excursion has 2 options :


1) Basic tour

Travelling to the Etna base station at Rifugio Sapienza (1900 m above sea level). Here you will have opportunities to see the extinct craters of Silvestri, as well as stunning panoramic views


Cost:

€45(adult: 13-99 years);

€23(child 2-12 years)


2) Upper Craters

Take the cable car up to the upper craters (2800 metres above sea level), then take jeep buses to the upper side craters and walk there with an alpine guide. Here you will have the opportunity to observe the activity of the craters at the top from a safe distance

€110 (adult: 13-99 years old);

€76 (child 2-12 years)


Tour language: Italian, English, German

Accompaniment in Russian for groups of 12 people or on individual request.


*** Lunch is free, snacks are available at the bar Rifugio Sapienza and neighbouring restaurants.


Clothing:

Closed sports shoes

Windbreaker/jacket (especially relevant for those who take the lift upwards.

There is a mountain boot and windbreaker hire point at the upper cable car station.


IMPORTANT

In order to avoid queues for lift tickets, we book them in advance. Therefore, when booking, please inform us if you plan to go to the upper craters.
